An Advent / Christmas Party At The Table!
Hello Tablers! We’re deep into Advent, within a whiff of Christmas, awash in the swirl of “seasonal events”, and I suppose that gathering with our community at The Table to mark this unique time of year could be just another thing on the calender.
For those able to come this Sunday evening (gather at 5, feast at 5:30, program at 6:30, then hang and / or sing some carols), my hope is that our time together will feel more like a break from the activity than another thing we have to attend. Toward that end, we’ve put the evening together in identifiable pieces, so you can come for any part of it, all of , or a mix of the pieces. Do what would help this time be a gift to you, rather than an obligation. I am looking foward to our evening together!
One matter of household business. As you may know, we have been struggling to get our debit machine back in working order. Today we discovered, having resolved all other possible problems, that the machine we own won’t work on the type of phone line we have at our new place. Ack…
We will solve this problem too, but probably won’t quite be there by this Sunday evening. So…if you have been trying to give by debit for the last few weeks and been unsuccessful, I would simply like to say how much your gifts matter to our ongoing operation, and how significant they can be particularly at the end of the year…and that if you want to make a year end gift at our Christmas gathering you should either bring cash, a cheque, or go to our website (thetablewinnipeg.com) and give via Paypal.
Thanks for all that each of you bring to our community. Thanks most of all for bringing your self, in whatever state of mind, body or spirit you may be, into the presence of one another as we gather to explore what we believe.
I hope to see you Sunday evening.
Tim Plett
P.S. If you didn’t RSVP regarding the feast, and get a last minute urge to attend, please come. The replies help us make sure we have enough food for everyone, but I am confident there is always room for one more!
