Hello Tablers. Last week one of the metaphors I used for exploring faith was that of a dance. The dance partners are the kind of things that are sometimes depicted as enemies; things like science and faith, or doubt and certainty. I don’t think I mentioned it on Sunday, but (to stay in the metaphor a while) this is a slow dance…you have to get up close and personal to be part of it.

This week we get to listen to our resident slam poet Trevor Williams, together with a mutual friend Autumn Merril, bring us a slam dialogue on the dance between being led by God and wondering if God is  there at all. We’ll follow that up with a “normal” dialogue with the poets themselves on the topic. I’m looking forward to both.

And I’m looking forward to seeing all of you! Last Sunday was our first morning gathering since the beginning of summer, and it really did feel like a homecoming. It was wonderful to hear the room filled with conversation as people caught up and reconnected. So good…

We will gather at 318 Ross (The Frame) at 10:30 a.m. in the A Gallery. Coffee is back on, so bring your mug if you want to imbibe.

Peace,

Tim Plett
