Sunday, Sept 29th
September 26, 2013
One of my favorite experiences at The Table is when I get feedback following a Sunday morning. It’s not the reassurance that someone out there was listening (although that can feel very pleasant); it’s the thoughtful and engaged nature of the feedback itself. This past week I heard from a few people – fantastic!
One of those pieces of feedback included the link to a video expanding on an idea that I had floated almost as a “sidebar” during the morning teaching time – the idea that we are made out of the same molecular stuff as the stars. We are, quite literally, stardust. And if that isn’t wonderfully strange enough, the way that dust behaves and what that behavior has to teach us about both our human-ness and Gods god-ness is VERY interesting!
So, if we could characterize last weeks gathering as one in which we explored “outwards” in the universe, this week we’ll explore “inwards”. Come prepared to squint a little, both because the particles under consideration are so small, and because video – which will play a part in this consideration – can sometimes be a bit tough to see in our venue.
See you Sunday, 10:30 a.m., 318 Ross (The Frame Arts Warehouse). Having now used a claw hammer (!) to open a fresh can of coffee, the brew will be on and hot.
Peace,
Tim Plett
